Move from Stan Store to Whop: Products, Members and Your Bio Link

By MoveToWhopUpdated 12 min readPricing verified

MoveToWhop is independent and not affiliated with Whop, Inc. or any platform we cover. We may earn a referral commission from Whop when you create a Whop through our links. It never costs you anything, and it's how we keep migrations free. How we make money

Quick answer

You can move a Stan Store to Whop, but not in one click. The free migration wizard recreates your products, prices and course outlines on Whop, your customers come from Stan's Income CSV, and paying members re-subscribe because their cards stay in a Stripe account Stan manages. You drop Stan's $29 or $99 monthly plan; Whop charges 2.7% + $0.30 per domestic card sale, plus a 0.5% billing fee on subscription payments when enabled.

What moves

Stan Store to Whop at a glance

This is what the free migration tool does for Stan Store today. Rows marked Guided or From your export need some input from you: a confirmation in the wizard or the file Stan Store gives you.

  • Products & pricing

    Moves

You confirm your products and prices in the wizard (prefilled where we can). We create matching Whop products and pricing plans through Whop's official API.

  • Courses

    Moves

Paste or import your course outline and we create the chapters and lessons in Whop Courses. Video files don't transfer automatically: re-upload them in Whop or embed them from YouTube or Loom.

  • Members

    From export

Upload the member export from Stan Store. We clean it and set up a hidden "Existing members" option on Whop: free claim links for one-time buyers, and for subscribers, a plan with a free trial that lines up their first Whop charge with their next Stan Store renewal. Whop's API can't add members directly, so members claim access from the link you send.

  • Community

    Moves

We create Whop Forums and Chat with a pinned welcome post. Old posts and comments don't move, because Whop's API would post them as you, dated today.

  • Paying subscribers

    Re-subscribe

Stan runs card payments through a Stripe account it creates and manages for you (or your own PayPal) and has no API, so paying members re-subscribe on Whop. We line up their first Whop charge with their next Stan renewal using your Income export.

Guided:
you confirm or paste it in the wizard, and we create it on Whop.
From your export:
imported from the export file Stan Store gives you.

What moves from Stan Store to Whop

Every product type you sell on Stan has a home on Whop, but only your customer records travel as data. Products, prices and course outlines are recreated through the free Stan Store migration wizard. Files and videos are uploaded by hand, and paying members re-subscribe because their cards stay with Stan.

Features as of October 2026, from Stan's and Whop's help centers. Sources at the end of this page.

If you sell the same files on Gumroad too, the Gumroad to Whop playbook covers moving those buyers into the same Whop.

Your customer list comes from two Stan exports

Stan has no public API, so your customer records come from files you download yourself, and nobody needs your Stan password. The Income export matters most. In the Income tab, filter by product and click Download CSV to get every transaction, payouts included, plus the answers to any custom checkout questions in extra columns at the far right. Stan's help center says those answers appear only in this export, not in the Customers tab export.

The Customers tab is still useful. Filter it by Active Subscription and you have the exact list of people still paying you each month, which is your re-subscribe list. Drop either file into the member CSV converter to get a de-duplicated, Whop-ready list; it runs in your browser.

Why paying members have to re-subscribe

To take card payments, Stan has you open a new Stripe Custom account that Stan manages. You can't connect a Stripe account you already own, and you can't log in to this one at stripe.com; you manage it from Stan's Settings → Payments screen instead. Subscribers who pay through your PayPal Business account are billed by PayPal, and those subscriptions can't move to Whop either.

Whop's own Stripe migration (Dashboard → Settings → Migrations) needs a Stripe account you can connect with its API keys and add a Whop email to as a team member. A Stan-managed account allows neither, and Stan documents no way to export saved cards. So every Stan subscriber enters a card again on Whop, the same position Skool, Patreon and Gumroad creators are in.

The wizard limits the damage. It sets up a matching plan with a free trial, so each member's first Whop charge lands on the day their next Stan payment would have, and nobody pays twice for one month. Stan bills on the anniversary of the first purchase, so that day is the member's last charge in your Income CSV plus their billing interval. Our explainer on moving paid subscriptions onto Whop covers which platforms can transfer cards and which can't.

How the switch works, step by step

Build and test on Whop first, move people second and cancel Stan last. The order protects your income more than speed does.

  1. Download your Stan records: one Income CSV per product, the Customers export, and your own copies of course videos and download files. Stan streams lesson videos in its player and documents no course export.
  2. Create your Whop and connect it to the wizard with Whop's "Sign in with Whop" button. We never ask for your Stan or Whop password.
  3. Confirm each product and price in the wizard, using the table above. The wizard creates them on Whop through Whop's official API.
  4. Paste each course outline. The wizard builds the chapters and lessons, and you add the videos.
  5. Upload your Stan export. The wizard creates a hidden "Existing members" option: free claim links for buyers who need ongoing access, such as course students, and trial-aligned plans for subscribers.
  6. Buy your own cheapest product as a test, then announce the move with personal claim links. Our platform-move announcement templates cover the first email, the reminders and the DMs.
  7. Cancel each member's Stan subscription on the day they join on Whop (details in the next section).
  8. Swap your bio links, cash out one last time and cancel your Stan plan once nobody is left on Stan billing.

How to keep members and avoid double billing

Give each subscriber a Whop trial that ends on their next Stan renewal date, and cancel their Stan subscription the day they join. Cancelling your Stan plan alone won't stop their payments: Stan's help center is explicit that cancelling your subscription, or deleting a recurring membership, community or course product, leaves every customer subscription running until you cancel it yourself.

Handle each subscriber in this order:

  1. The member opens their claim link and joins your Whop plan. Their free trial runs until their next Stan renewal date.
  2. The same day, you cancel their Stan subscription: Customers tab → their name → the three dots next to Subscriptions → Cancel Subscription. Stan stops all future charges from that point.
  3. Whop takes the first payment on the date Stan would have.

Plan for three edge cases before you announce:

  • Members who haven't claimed by their renewal date. Decide upfront whether Stan renews them once more while you follow up or whether you cancel at the end of their period, and say which in your announcement.
  • Stan Payment Plans. Installment plans keep charging on their original schedule through Stan's Stripe account. Keep Stan open until the last installment is collected and cashed out, then give those buyers a free claim link on Whop.
  • PayPal subscribers. They re-subscribe the same way. After you cancel them in Stan, check your PayPal Business account to confirm no recurring payment is still scheduled.

Stan Store vs Whop fees at your revenue

On US card sales, and before Whop's $0.07-per-charge Radar fee, Whop costs less than either Stan plan at every revenue level below. Whop has no monthly fee and charges 2.7% + $0.30 per payment, while Stan's card payments go through Stripe at 2.9% + $0.30 on top of a $29 or $99 plan. Before Radar, your monthly saving equals the Stan plan price plus 0.2% of revenue; on products under $35, Radar can erase it at high volume (see below).

Prices as of October 2026. Sources at the end of this page.

Monthly card revenueSaving vs Creator, monthly ($29)Saving vs Creator, yearly ($25/mo)Saving vs Creator Pro, monthly ($99)Saving vs Creator Pro, yearly ($79/mo)
$1,000$31$27$101$81
$10,000$49$45$119$99
$50,000$129$125$199$179

How we calculated it: Stan costs its plan price + 3.4% of revenue (Stripe's 2.9% plus 0.5% on recurring payments) + $0.30 per charge. Whop costs 3.2% of revenue (2.7% plus its 0.5% billing fee, which applies when enabled; we include it for subscriptions) + $0.30 per charge. Because both charge $0.30 per payment, the saving before Radar doesn't depend on your price. On a $50 membership at $10,000 a month (200 members), for example, Stan Creator costs $429 and Whop $380 ($394 with the $0.07 Radar fee). We assumed US cards, monthly billing, no payout fees and no optional Whop add-ons such as 0.8% orchestration or the 2% tax service, and show Radar separately.

Whop's fee page also lists a $0.07 Radar fraud-screening fee per transaction, which our calculator leaves off unless you tick it. On products under $35 that fee outweighs Whop's lower rate per sale, so at high volume Stan Creator can come out cheaper: on $25 items at $50,000 a month, Radar adds $140 and Stan Creator costs $11 less than Whop. Our Whop vs Stan Store comparison shows exactly where the line falls.

The Creator Pro columns compare fees only. Creator Pro bundles email broadcasts, flows and funnels, and the Whop App Store email and upsell apps that replace them carry their own prices. If you use those Creator Pro tools, add the replacement's monthly cost to the Whop side before comparing.

Try your own price and volume in the fee calculator preset for Stan Store, or read what Stan's two plans include and every fee Whop can charge.

What you'll rebuild by hand

Anything that isn't a product, price, course outline or customer record needs a manual rebuild. How much work that is depends on how much of Stan's Creator Pro toolkit you use.

Should you switch from Stan Store to Whop?

Switch if Stan's monthly fee or its limits are what you're working around; stay if Stan's marketing tools are what make you money.

Switching makes sense when:

  • You pay $99 a month for Creator Pro mostly for discount codes or payment flexibility. Whop includes promo codes and split pay (installments) with no monthly fee. For order bumps, check whether Whop's 2025 upsell feature appears in your dashboard, or plan on an App Store app.
  • Your membership, course or community is the main product. Whop adds forums, chat, events, built-in livestreaming and course quizzes.
  • Manual cash-outs slow you down. Whop lets you turn on automatic withdrawals (daily or weekly, depending on your account), with next-day ACH at $2.50 per payout and a $10 minimum, or withdraw instantly for 4% + $1.00.
  • You sell to buyers abroad. Stan prices your whole store in one currency. Whop's adaptive pricing shows one-time products in the buyer's local currency at your domestic card rate (the buyer pays a small conversion fee); subscriptions bill in your currency, with +1.5% for international cards and +1% when conversion applies.

Staying on Stan makes sense when:

  • Instagram AutoDM or Creator Pro's email broadcasts, flows and funnel upsells bring in most of your buyers. Whop has no built-in AutoDM, email marketing or funnel builder, so you'd rebuild them with App Store apps or outside tools, which carry their own prices.
  • You sell many cheap products at high volume. Under $35 an item, Whop's $0.07 Radar fee can make Stan Creator cheaper once monthly sales get large enough.
  • You have many subscribers and modest revenue. At $1,000 a month on Creator, Whop saves you about $31 a month before Radar (about $28 to $30 once Radar is counted on $25 to $50 items), and every subscriber still has to enter a card again.
  • Your high-ticket offers depend on Afterpay or Klarna. Creator Pro passes on Stripe's 6.0% + $0.30 and 5.99% + $0.30, while Whop's financing costs 15% per sale, works on one-time payments only and needs approval (Whop asks for $30k from 10+ customers in the past 90 days and a dispute rate under 2%).

Know Whop's trade-offs too. New Whop accounts go through identity and bank verification, can be placed on a reserve, and are capped at $2,500 per checkout payment until Whop approves higher limits. Whop also has no built-in email marketing (only welcome and goodbye DMs with an optional email copy, forum emails and transactional emails) and no native one-click upsells or downsells. For options beyond Whop, see our ranked Stan Store alternatives.

Your Stan link lives in more places than your Instagram bio. Run the launch checks first, then replace every link that still points to stan.store.

Before you announce:

  • Finish Whop's identity and bank verification so withdrawals aren't held up, and apply for higher checkout limits if any offer costs more than $2,500.
  • Buy your cheapest product with a real card, open every app as the buyer, then refund yourself. Whop doesn't return processing fees on refunds, so the test costs you the fee.
  • Put web checkout links in your bio. One-time purchases under $700 made inside Whop's iOS app go through Apple and carry a 42.86% markup.
  • Save your Income CSVs somewhere safe, because Stan's analytics don't come with you.

If this is your first Whop, our guide to selling on Whop walks through a first-sale setup.

Whop has no link-in-bio page builder, so point your bio at your Whop store page or a free whop.site website. Whop Websites launched in August 2026: you start from a blueprint, describe the site to Whop's AI or write code, and checkout and the Whop pixel come built in. Edits go through AI chat or code (there's no drag-and-drop editor or built-in blog), and a custom domain currently takes Whop's API. Since October 2, 2026, Whop can also rebuild an existing site from its URL; we haven't tested it on a stan.store page, and it doesn't move customers or subscriptions.

Then swap these links:

  • Profile links on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Threads and LinkedIn
  • Pinned posts, story highlights and video descriptions that point to a product
  • Stan AutoDM replies, which keep sending stan.store links while your plan runs
  • Your email signature, welcome emails and any Stan email flow still sending
  • QR codes on slides, packaging and business cards
  • Your own domain: Stan doesn't support custom domains, so if yours forwards to stan.store/yourname, change the forwarding rule at your registrar
  • Other link pages and podcast show notes

Last, cash out the remaining balance (the minimum is $10), cancel any Stan subscription that is still active, and cancel your plan under Settings → Billing → Cancel Subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Can I move my Stan Store subscribers to Whop without them re-entering a card?

No. Stan keeps cards in a Stripe Custom account it manages, which you can't log in to, and Whop's Stripe migration only works with a Stripe account you control. Members re-subscribe on Whop instead. The migration wizard gives each one a free trial that ends on their next Stan renewal date, so their first Whop charge replaces a Stan charge rather than doubling it.

Does cancelling my Stan plan cancel my customers' memberships?

No. Stan's help center says cancelling your Stan subscription, or deleting a membership, community or course product, leaves customers' recurring payments running. Cancel each one in the Customers tab: open the customer, click the three dots next to Subscriptions and choose Cancel Subscription. The cleanest moment is the day that member joins you on Whop.

How do I export my customers from Stan Store?

Open the Income tab, filter by product and click Download CSV. That file lists every transaction and is the only export that includes answers to your custom checkout questions. The Customers tab has its own export without those answers. Filter the Customers tab by Active Subscription first if you want to see who still pays you every month.

Do my Stan Store courses and videos transfer to Whop?

The structure does and the videos don't. Paste your course outline into the migration wizard and it builds the chapters and lessons in Whop's Courses app. Stan streams lesson videos inside its own player and documents no course export, so upload your original video files to Whop or embed them from YouTube or Loom.

How do I get my money out of Stan before I leave?

Cash out by hand: there are no automatic payouts, so press + Cash Out in the Income tab once your available balance reaches the $10 minimum. US Stripe sales take 2 to 7 business days to become available, then about 24 to 48 hours to reach your bank. Stripe charges 0.25% + $0.25 per payout, with a $1 minimum.

What happens to my Stan Store after I cancel?

You keep access until the end of your current billing period, and Stan says your products, analytics and emails stay saved on Stan. Customer subscriptions keep billing unless you cancel each one. If you go further and delete the account, Stan says deletion takes 7 days to process, so cash out your balance before you start either step.

What happens to my Stan email list and AutoDM when I move?

Both stay behind on Stan, and AutoDM stops when your plan ends. Export your contacts before you cancel. Whop has no built-in email marketing (no broadcasts, sequences or segments): it sends welcome and goodbye DMs with an optional email copy, forum posts by email and transactional emails. Use a Whop App Store email app or your own email tool for broadcasts and flows, and move your Instagram replies to a third-party tool first, linking to Whop instead of stan.store.
