Every Kajabi fee in one table
On top of the plan, Kajabi Payments charges a card rate that depends on your plan, plus 0.7% on every subscription and payment-plan charge. These are the rates for US businesses.
Fees as of October 2026 for US businesses, from Kajabi's pricing page and help center. Sources at the end of this page.
| Fee | Rate | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Card or wallet payment, Basic | 2.9% + 30¢ | Every card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link card payment |
| Card or wallet payment, Growth | 2.8% + 30¢ | Same, on the current Growth plan |
| Card or wallet payment, Pro | 2.7% + 30¢ | Same, on the current Pro plan |
| Subscriptions and payment plans | +0.7% | Every charge in the series, including the first |
| International card | +1.5% | The card was issued outside your country |
| Currency conversion | +1% | The offer's currency differs from your bank's; built into the exchange rate |
| Your own Stripe or other third-party processor | +2% (Basic), +1% (Growth) or +0.5% (Pro), plus that processor's fees | Current plans, in countries where Kajabi Payments exists; PayPal is exempt |
| Dispute | $15 | Per chargeback, kept even if you win |
| Kajabi Sales Tax | $0.15 per transaction | Offers with Kajabi Sales Tax turned on |
| Kajabi Invoicing | +0.4% | Payments made through an invoice |
| Manually entered card | +0.5% | The first time you charge a card you typed in |
| Link instant bank payment | 2.6% + 30¢ | A US customer pays from their bank through Link |
| ACH Direct Debit | 0.8%, capped at $5 | Invoices only; plus $1.50 per bank verification and $4 per failed payment |
| Afterpay | 6% + 30¢ | One-time payments; +1.5% cross-border |
| Klarna | 5.99% + 30¢ | One-time payments |
| Instant payout | 1.5%, $0.50 minimum | Optional; standard payouts are free |
| Refund | No fee | The original processing fees aren't returned |
Two details trip people up. The discounted Growth and Pro card rates come only with Kajabi's new plans, so legacy Growth and Pro accounts pay the standard 2.9% + 30¢; in exchange, legacy plans don't pay the third-party processor fee. And rates differ outside the US: Kajabi publishes separate fee pages for the UK, Europe, Canada, Australia and the UAE.
Payouts are free on Kajabi's standard schedule, but new Kajabi Payments accounts start on monthly payouts with a 7-business-day delay, and daily or weekly options can open up after your first sale.
What changed in 2025 and 2026
Kajabi raised its Basic, Growth and Pro prices, moved existing customers to the new prices in January 2026, and reshuffled its entry-level plans twice. Kajabi described the change as its first price increase in 10 years. Each entry below has a dated source.
- September 16, 2025: An archived copy of the pricing page shows the old monthly prices: Kickstarter $89, Basic $149, Growth $199 and Pro $399.
- By October 16, 2025: The archived page shows the new lineup for new customers: Kickstarter $89, Basic $179, Growth $249 and Pro $499 a month. Growth and Pro got discounted Kajabi Payments card rates, and a third-party processor fee appeared: 5% on Kickstarter, 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth and 0.5% on Pro.
- December 2025: Kajabi's notice to existing customers said legacy plans would move to the new prices from the first billing date on or after January 13, 2026, keeping their current features and limits. Founder and Beta Invite plans kept their prices. The notice also raised extra contacts from $20 to $25 per 5,000 and bundled the branded app and public API into the new Pro plan.
- January 13, 2026: The archived pricing page lists only Basic, Growth and Pro. Kickstarter no longer appears.
- April to July 2026: A Starter plan at $89 a month ($71 billed yearly) with a single product showed up in the April 11 archive and was gone from the July 28 archive.
- October 1, 2026: Kajabi cut Kajabi Payments domestic card fees in Australia, to 1.65% on Basic, 1.55% on Growth and 1.45% on Pro, each plus A$0.30.
For a creator on Pro billed monthly, the change meant $100 more a month, or $1,200 a year, which matches what one r/kajabi user reported in September 2025.
What the same business pays on Kajabi and on Whop
The plan fee is why Kajabi feels expensive at small revenue. At $1,000 a month, Kajabi Basic's plan and fees take 22% of sales. By $50,000 a month that share falls below 5%, but Whop's fees stay at about 3.8% at every level.
Prices as of October 2026. Sources at the end of this page.
| Monthly revenue ($49 members) | Kajabi Basic per year | Kajabi Growth per year | Kajabi Pro per year | Whop per year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $1,000 (about 20 charges) | $2,653 ($2,221 billed yearly) | $3,481 ($2,881) | $6,469 ($5,269) | $457 |
| $10,000 (about 204 charges) | $7,203 ($6,771) | $7,923 ($7,323) | $10,803 ($9,603) | $4,575 |
| $50,000 (about 1,020 charges) | $27,421 ($26,989) | $27,661 ($27,061) | $30,061 ($28,861) | $22,873 |
Yearly cost = 12 × (plan price + revenue × fee rate + charges × $0.30), with charges = revenue ÷ $49. Kajabi's fee rate is its card rate plus 0.7% on subscription charges: 3.6% on Basic, 3.5% on Growth and 3.4% on Pro. Whop has no plan fee and charges 2.7% + 30¢ per card sale plus 0.5% billing on recurring charges, so 3.2%. We assume US cards, Kajabi Payments on a current plan, and no add-ons, payout fees or currency conversion. Whop's $0.07 Radar fee per transaction is left out; it adds about $171 a year at $10,000 a month.

Monthly or yearly billing?
Yearly billing saves $432 a year on Basic, $600 on Growth and $1,200 on Pro, but it's hard to undo. Pay yearly only if you're confident you'll stay 12 months.
Kajabi's terms give a full refund only within 30 days of your first charge. After that, all payments are nonrefundable, with no refunds or credits for partly used subscriptions; if you cancel, you keep access until the end of the billing cycle you've paid for. Kajabi's help center adds that yearly renewals bill at its current published price, with no price lock. One r/kajabi user warned others in October 2025 after being billed for a full year they no longer wanted.
Parking (pausing) your account doesn't get money back either. It costs $29 a month, takes your site offline, forfeits any months left on a yearly plan, and permanently gives up legacy pricing. If you're planning to leave, export your Kajabi data while your plan is active, and use our guide to cancelling Kajabi in the right order to time the exit around your renewal date.
Costs people miss
The plan and card rate aren't the whole bill. These extras, all from Kajabi's own price list, can push it up.
- Extra capacity, billed monthly: 5,000 more contacts for $25, 10 more products for $50, one more website for $49, one more admin user for $5, 10 more funnels for $10 and 500 more AI credits for $15.
- The branded mobile app is included on Pro and costs $199 a month on Basic and Growth.
- Kajabi isn't the merchant of record. Kajabi Sales Tax calculates and collects tax for $0.15 per transaction, but you register, file and pay it yourself.
- Disputes cost $15 each, even when you win, and refunds don't return the original processing fees.
- If you bring your own Stripe on a current plan, Kajabi's 2%, 1% or 0.5% fee comes on top of Stripe's own fees.
When Kajabi's price makes sense
Kajabi earns its price when you use most of the bundle. If your business runs on its email sequences, funnels, website and courses together, weigh the fee savings against the work of rebuilding them, since Kajabi doesn't export sequences or funnels.
It's harder to justify if you mainly host courses or a community and send the odd email. Our ranking of cheaper Kajabi alternatives covers Whop, Skool, Podia, Teachable, Thinkific and Circle, and the Kajabi vs Skool vs Whop breakdown puts three options side by side. If you're also pricing Skool, its plans are broken down in Skool pricing and fees. When you're ready to move, see what transfers from Kajabi to Whop or open the free migration wizard.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Kajabi cost per month?
Kajabi's plans cost $179 (Basic), $249 (Growth) and $499 (Pro) a month on monthly billing, as of October 2026. Billed yearly they work out to $143, $199 and $399 a month, or $1,716, $2,388 and $4,788 a year. Those prices exclude tax, and card processing comes on top: 2.7% to 2.9% + 30¢ per US sale through Kajabi Payments, plus 0.7% on recurring charges.
Does Kajabi charge transaction fees?
Not on Kajabi Payments or PayPal, where you pay processing only. If you're on a current plan and process cards through your own Stripe or another third-party gateway, Kajabi adds 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth or 0.5% on Pro, on top of that processor's own fees. Kajabi says the fee doesn't apply to legacy plans or in countries where Kajabi Payments isn't available.
What happened to the Kajabi Kickstarter plan?
Kickstarter cost $89 a month ($71 billed yearly) and was still on Kajabi's pricing page in the October 16, 2025 archive. By the January 13, 2026 archive it was gone, leaving Basic, Growth and Pro. A similar $89 Starter plan with one product appeared in April 2026 and was gone by late July. If you're still on Kickstarter, your plan details are under Settings, then Subscription & Billing.
Is Kajabi cheaper if you pay yearly?
Yes, by about 20%. Yearly billing saves $432 a year on Basic, $600 on Growth and $1,200 on Pro. Before you commit, read the refund rule: Kajabi's terms give a full refund only within 30 days of your first charge, with no refunds or credits for unused months after that. Kajabi also says yearly renewals bill at its current published price, with no price lock.
Does Kajabi have a free plan or free trial?
There's no free plan. Kajabi offers a free trial of up to 14 days, with no extensions, and places a temporary $149 authorization hold on your card during it. Some features stay locked until you pay, including bulk contact imports and a custom email domain. Every paid plan comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee from your first charge.
Why did my Kajabi bill go up in 2026?
If you joined before Kajabi's new plans launched in fall 2025, you're on a legacy plan. Kajabi moved legacy plans to the new prices from the first billing date on or after January 13, 2026, while keeping their features and limits the same. Founder and Beta Invite plans were exempt. On monthly billing, Basic went from $149 to $179, Growth from $199 to $249 and Pro from $399 to $499.
Do legacy Kajabi plans get the lower card rates?
No. Kajabi says the discounted Kajabi Payments rates, 2.8% on Growth and 2.7% on Pro, come with its new plans, so legacy plans pay the standard 2.9% + 30¢. In return, legacy plans skip the 2%, 1% or 0.5% fee that new plans pay on third-party processors like Stripe. Switching from a legacy plan to a new one is permanent.
