7 Best Stan Store Alternatives for Link-in-Bio Sellers (2026)

By MoveToWhopUpdated 12 min readPricing verified

MoveToWhop is independent and not affiliated with Whop, Inc. or any platform we cover. We may earn a referral commission from Whop when you create a Whop through our links. It never costs you anything, and it's how we keep migrations free. We don't earn commissions from the other platforms on this page. How we make money

Quick answer

The best Stan Store alternatives in 2026 are Whop (a $0/mo store for memberships, courses and community at 2.7% + $0.30 per sale), Beacons (the closest link-in-bio match, with a 0% seller fee from $30 a month), Payhip (a free plan at 5% per sale, with sales tax handled) and Systeme.io (a free plan with email and funnels). Linktree, Gumroad and Kajabi suit narrower needs. Stan itself costs $29 to $99 a month.

Quick picks

The right replacement depends on what you sell and where your buyers come from.

  • Best $0/mo replacement for memberships, courses and community: Whop
  • Closest match to Stan's link-in-bio store, Instagram auto-DMs included: Beacons
  • Best for digital downloads with sales tax handled for you: Payhip
  • Best free plan with email and funnels: Systeme.io
  • Best if your followers already tap your Linktree: Linktree
  • Best for testing a product with no monthly bill: Gumroad
  • Best for a full business with email, funnels and a website: Kajabi

We list Whop first because it is the only option here that covers every product type Stan sells, from downloads to 1:1 bookings, for $0 a month and a 0% platform fee, and it had the lowest total in both cost scenarios below, using our calculator's assumptions. We earn a referral commission from Whop and nothing from the other platforms on this list.

What each alternative costs at $1,000 and $10,000 a month

Counting the plan price and every per-sale fee, Whop is the cheapest option in both scenarios. Stan's Creator plan comes third, because most free plans make up for their $0 price with a percentage of every sale. We modeled $25 one-time digital product sales (40 a month at $1,000, 400 at $10,000), paid with US cards through each platform's standard card processing.

Prices as of October 2026, from each company's public pricing and help pages. Plans change, so check before you buy.

Whop$02.7% + $0.30$39$390
Systeme.io Free (3-product store)$0Stripe 2.9% + $0.30$41$410

Linktree Free$012% + Stripe 2.9% + $0.30$161$1,610
Kajabi Basic$1792.9% + $0.30 (Kajabi Payments)$220$589

Each total is the monthly plan + the platform's percentage × sales + card processing × sales + the fixed fee × number of sales. These are one-time sales, so no renewal surcharges apply; for memberships, Stan and Whop each add 0.5% and Kajabi adds 0.7%. We left out Whop's $0.07 Radar fee per transaction, as our calculator does. Counting it adds $3 and $28 to Whop's totals, which makes the Systeme.io free plan a few dollars cheaper, but only while your store fits in its 3-product limit. Gumroad and Payhip handle sales tax for you, which the totals don't capture. Run your own mix in the fee calculator.

Why creators look for Stan Store alternatives

Four reasons stand out, each backed by Stan's own help center or by public reviews.

  1. The selling tools cost $99 a month. Discount codes, payment plans, Afterpay and Klarna, funnels, order bumps, email broadcasts, ad pixels and affiliate share are all Creator Pro features, so a creator who wants one coupon for a launch pays $70 a month more. A creator reviewing Stan on r/Entrepreneur named price as the biggest downside for that reason, even while praising the setup and support.
  2. There's no free plan. Stan offers a 14-day trial and then charges at least $29 a month, while six of the seven options below let you start at $0.
  3. You don't control the payment account. Stan has you open a Stripe Custom account that it manages, with no Stripe login of your own, and every payout is a manual cash-out. Some 2026 one- and two-star reviews on Trustpilot describe greyed-out cash-out buttons or funds stuck in processing, and a coach on r/smallbusiness went looking for another processor over worries about withheld payments.
  4. Limits show up as you grow: no custom domain (you can only forward one), one login with no team seats, and one currency for the whole store.

How we chose these alternatives

We started from what Stan sells and ranked replacements on five criteria, in this order of importance:

  1. Total monthly cost at $1,000 and $10,000 in sales, counting the plan, any platform fee and card processing.
  2. Coverage of Stan's product types: downloads, courses, coaching calls, memberships and community.
  3. Fit for link-in-bio selling from Instagram or TikTok, including Instagram auto-DMs.
  4. Effort to switch from Stan, including what can be imported.
  5. How you get paid and who handles sales tax.

Everything here comes from public pricing pages and help centers, checked on October 2 and 3, 2026. We haven't run paid test stores on these platforms, so we don't score checkout speed or support quality ourselves.

1. Whop: best $0/mo replacement for memberships, courses and community

Whop is a commerce platform with no monthly fee. You pay 2.7% + $0.30 per US card sale, plus 0.5% on subscription renewals (Whop's fee page), and each product can bundle apps such as Courses, Files, Forums, Chat, Events and Calendar Bookings. Those apps cover every product type a Stan store sells, and Whop publishes no cap on how many products you create.

Where it beats Stan:

  • It costs $31 less than Stan Creator at $1,000 in sales and $49 less at $10,000 in our example, and $101 and $119 less than Creator Pro.
  • Promo codes, upsells and order bumps are included, with no higher tier to pay for.
  • Withdrawals can run daily, weekly or automatically, and instant payouts cost 4% + $1.00, instead of Stan's manual cash-outs.
  • The Discover marketplace (0% commission since May 2025) and a built-in affiliate program can bring buyers you didn't find yourself.

Where it falls short:

  • New accounts go through identity checks, can be put on a reserve, and start with a $2,500 per-payment cap on checkout links.
  • You can't bring your own Stripe account; every payment runs through Whop Payments.
  • Buy-now-pay-later financing costs 15% per sale and needs approval first, against Stripe's 6.0% + $0.30 for Afterpay on Stan Creator Pro.
  • A March 2026 RockWater analysis found Whop's marketplace driven by trading signals, sports-betting picks and crypto communities, so Discover may send fewer buyers in other niches.

Switching from Stan is partly automated: our free migration wizard recreates products, prices and course outlines, and lines up each subscriber's first Whop charge with their next Stan renewal. Subscribers still enter a card again. For the feature-by-feature detail, read Whop vs Stan Store compared.

Choose Whop if your membership, course or community is the business and you want to stop paying a monthly plan.

Beacons is a link-in-bio page with a built-in store, media kit, email marketing and an Instagram auto-DM tool called Smart Reply, which makes it the most direct swap for a Stan store. The Free plan and the $10-a-month Creator plan take a 9% seller fee; Creator Plus ($30 a month, or $300 a year) drops it to 0% (Beacons pricing). Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30, or PayPal's 3.49% plus a fixed fee, applies on every plan.

Where it beats Stan:

  • Creator Plus costs $69 a month less than Stan Creator Pro and includes a 0% seller fee, unlimited email sends, unlimited courses with video hosting, unlimited memberships, buy-now-pay-later options and a free custom domain.
  • Smart Reply auto-DMs are on the free plan, so you can test the Instagram flow at $0.
  • Sales go straight to your own Stripe or PayPal account, and you set the payout schedule there.

Where it falls short:

  • 9% of every sale on the Free and Creator plans, which comes to $131 a month at $1,000 in sales in our example.
  • The Free plan allows one course without video hosting and 50 email sends a month.
  • Community features aren't listed on its pricing page (October 2026).

Switching from Stan is manual: you rebuild products, re-upload files and run the same re-subscribe campaign you would anywhere.

Choose Beacons if Instagram is your main channel and you want Stan's format, email and auto-DMs for $30 a month instead of $99.

3. Payhip: best for digital downloads with sales tax handled

Payhip is a storefront for downloads, courses, coaching and memberships with built-in email marketing, and every feature is on every plan. You pick how you pay: Free takes 5% per sale, Plus costs $29 a month and takes 2%, and Pro costs $99 a month and takes nothing (Payhip pricing). Stripe or PayPal charge their standard processing on top.

Where it beats Stan:

  • A free plan with every feature, so you pay only when you sell.
  • Payhip collects and pays EU and UK VAT and US and Canadian sales tax on your behalf, while Stan leaves registration and filing to you.
  • Payhip deposits each sale to your Stripe or PayPal account as soon as the transaction completes.

Where it falls short:

  • The Free plan's 5% adds up: $91 a month at $1,000 in sales in our example, more than Stan Creator's $70.
  • Pro costs the same $99 a month as Stan Creator Pro.
  • No community feature or Instagram DM automation is listed on its features page (October 2026).

Switching from Stan is manual, product by product.

Choose Payhip if you mainly sell downloads or courses to buyers in several countries and want tax collection off your plate.

4. Systeme.io: best free plan with email and funnels

Systeme.io is an all-in-one platform for funnels, email, courses, communities and websites with 0% transaction fees on every plan; you pay only your own payment gateway. Its free plan includes 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course, 1 community and a digital store with 3 products, with unlimited email sends. Paid plans cost $17, $47 or $97 a month, with two months free on annual billing (Systeme.io pricing).

Where it beats Stan:

  • A permanent free plan, and a $17 paid plan that costs less than Stan Creator.
  • Email marketing with unlimited sends and funnels on every plan, both of which Stan keeps for Creator Pro.
  • Free done-for-you migration into Systeme.io on annual plans and the Unlimited plan.
  • A wide choice of gateways, including Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay and Mercado Pago.

Where it falls short:

  • The free store holds only 3 products, and the free plan allows 1 course and 1 community.
  • Design flexibility and templates are basic.
  • Support is by email only, with no live chat.

Switching from Stan is manual unless you qualify for Systeme.io's free migration.

Choose Systeme.io if you want email, funnels and a course at $0 and your catalog fits inside the free plan's caps.

5. Linktree: best if your followers already tap your Linktree

Linktree is a link-in-bio page that now sells digital products and courses directly; the company says more than 70 million people use it. The seller fee depends on the plan: 12% on Free, 9% on Starter ($8 a month) and Pro ($15 a month), and 0% on Premium ($35 a month, or $30 a month billed yearly), per Linktree's pricing page. Stripe processing, typically 2.9% + $0.30, applies on top.

Where it beats Stan:

  • Instagram auto-replies come with every plan, from 1,000 sends a month on Free to unlimited on Premium.
  • Premium costs $64 a month less than Stan Creator Pro and charges a 0% seller fee.
  • It collects emails and phone numbers and syncs them to Mailchimp, Kit or Klaviyo.

Where it falls short:

  • The Free plan's 12% fee comes to $161 a month at $1,000 in sales in our example.
  • Selling is open only to creators in supported countries, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore and most of the EU.
  • Recurring memberships and community features aren't listed on its pricing page (October 2026).

Switching from Stan is manual, and paying members would need somewhere else to live.

Choose Linktree if you sell a few downloads or one course and want to keep the bio page your audience already uses.

6. Gumroad: best for testing a product with no monthly bill

Gumroad has no monthly fee and charges per sale: 10% + $0.50 on direct sales plus 2.9% + $0.30 card processing, or a flat 30% when a buyer finds you through its Discover marketplace (Gumroad's fee article). Gumroad is the merchant of record, so it collects and remits sales tax and VAT for you.

Where it beats Stan:

  • $0 a month, which suits testing a product before you commit to any plan.
  • Sales tax and VAT handled for you as merchant of record.
  • Memberships, calls, license keys, installment plans and upsells share one checkout.

Where it falls short:

  • It ties with Linktree's free plan as the most expensive option here at volume: $161 a month at $1,000 in sales and $1,610 at $10,000 in our example.
  • Payouts need a $100 minimum balance, and sales are held for at least 7 days.
  • Community features are limited.

Switching from Stan is manual. If Gumroad is on your shortlist, see what Gumroad's fees add up to and the Whop vs Gumroad comparison; creators already selling there have their own list of Gumroad alternatives.

Choose Gumroad if you want to test a product with zero fixed cost and no tax paperwork.

7. Kajabi: best for a full business with email, funnels and a website

Kajabi bundles courses, coaching, community, email marketing, funnels and a website in one dashboard. Plans cost $179, $249 or $499 a month ($143, $199 or $399 billed yearly, per Kajabi's pricing page), and Kajabi Payments charges 2.9%, 2.8% or 2.7% + $0.30 per US card sale depending on the plan, plus 0.7% on subscription charges.

Where it beats Stan:

  • Email marketing, landing pages and funnels on every plan, plus a full website.
  • No revenue share when you use Kajabi Payments.
  • A 30-day money-back guarantee on every plan.

Where it falls short:

  • $179 a month at minimum, about six times Stan Creator.
  • The Basic plan caps you at 5 products and 2,500 contacts.
  • Using your own Stripe account instead of Kajabi Payments adds 0.5% to 2% per sale.

Switching from Stan is manual. Kajabi's plans and fees in detail and Whop vs Kajabi cover the trade-offs at that price.

Choose Kajabi if email and funnels run your business and $179 or more a month is a small share of your revenue.

When Stan Store is still the better choice

Leaving isn't always worth it. Stay on Stan if one of these fits:

  • AutoDM brings in your sales and you'd rather not rebuild those flows. Beacons and Linktree include Instagram auto-replies; Whop's docs didn't list one when we checked on October 3, 2026.
  • You rely on Creator Pro's email, funnels and Afterpay or Klarna, and rebuilding all of it elsewhere isn't worth the savings to you.
  • Your revenue is small and mostly from subscribers. Switching to Whop saves about $31 a month against Creator at $1,000 in sales, and every subscriber has to enter a card again wherever you go.
  • You value Stan's support. The r/Entrepreneur reviewer singled out getting replies from a real person.

How to move off Stan Store

Whichever alternative you choose, two Stan facts shape the move. Your paying subscribers' cards stay in Stan's Stripe Custom account, so they re-subscribe on the new platform, and cancelling your Stan plan doesn't cancel their payments, so you cancel each one yourself as they move.

Take your data with you first. The Income tab's Download CSV (filtered by product) is the only export that includes answers to custom checkout questions, and the Customers tab has the list of active subscribers. The member CSV converter cleans either file in your browser. If Whop is your pick, our step-by-step Stan Store to Whop guide covers the full sequence, including a member email you can copy, and the free migration tool handles the setup on Whop. To see what Stan costs you today, check our Stan Store pricing breakdown.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free alternative to Stan Store?

Yes, several, though free plans charge per sale instead of per month. Whop has no monthly fee and takes 2.7% + $0.30 per US card sale. Systeme.io's free plan charges 0% but caps its store at 3 products. Payhip Free takes 5%, Beacons Free 9% and Linktree Free 12%, each plus card processing, and Gumroad takes 10% + $0.50 plus processing.

What is the closest alternative to Stan Store?

Beacons. Like Stan, it combines a link-in-bio page with a built-in store, email marketing and Instagram auto-DMs. Its Creator Plus plan costs $30 a month, charges a 0% seller fee and includes unlimited email sends and courses with video hosting, which is $69 a month less than Stan Creator Pro. The free and $10 plans work too, but take 9% of each sale.

Which Stan Store alternative has the lowest fees?

Whop, in our examples. Selling $25 products, Whop's 2.7% + $0.30 with no plan fee costs $39 at $1,000 a month and $390 at $10,000, against $70 and $439 on Stan Creator. Systeme.io's free plan is close behind at $41 and $410, and slightly cheaper if you count Whop's $0.07 Radar fee, but its store holds only 3 products.

Will my Stan subscribers have to re-subscribe if I switch?

Yes, whichever platform you choose. Stan runs card payments through a Stripe Custom account it manages, which you can't log in to, and it documents no way to export saved cards. That rules out the Stripe-to-Stripe transfers some platforms support. Plan a re-subscribe campaign, and cancel each Stan subscription yourself, because cancelling your Stan plan leaves them running.

Can Linktree replace Stan Store?

For digital products and courses, yes. Linktree sells both directly, with a 12% seller fee on Free, 9% on Starter and Pro, and 0% on Premium at $35 a month, plus Stripe processing. Instagram auto-replies come with every plan. Recurring memberships and community features aren't listed on its pricing page, so membership sellers should look at Whop or Beacons.

Is Gumroad cheaper than Stan Store?

Only at very low sales. Gumroad has no monthly fee, but on $25 products its 10% + $0.50 plus 2.9% + $0.30 processing costs $3 more per sale than Stan, so it passes Stan Creator's $29 plan at about 10 sales a month. At $1,000 a month that's $161 on Gumroad against $70 on Stan Creator. Gumroad does handle sales tax as merchant of record.
