Move from SamCart to Whop: What Transfers and How to Switch
MoveToWhop is independent and not affiliated with Whop, Inc. or any platform we cover. We may earn a referral commission from Whop when you create a Whop through our links. It never costs you anything, and it's how we keep migrations free. How we make money
Quick answer
Our free wizard reads SamCart's Orders and Subscriptions exports and recreates your products and plans on Whop. Card subscriptions in your own Stripe transfer through Whop Migrations with their billing dates. SamPay and PayPal subscribers sign up again, with a trial running to their next rebill. Payment plans stop when you close SamCart, so finish them first. At $10,000 a month in $49 memberships, Whop's fees are about $381 ($396 with Radar) and SamCart Core's $430.
What moves
SamCart to Whop at a glance
This is what the free migration tool does for SamCart today. Rows marked Guided or From your export need some input from you: a confirmation in the wizard or the file SamCart gives you.
Products & pricing
MovesYou confirm your products and prices in the wizard (prefilled where we can). We create matching Whop products and pricing plans through Whop's official API.
Courses
MovesPaste or import your course outline and we create the chapters and lessons in Whop Courses. Video files don't transfer automatically: re-upload them in Whop or embed them from YouTube or Loom.
Members
From exportUpload the member export from SamCart. We clean it and set up a hidden "Existing members" option on Whop: free claim links for one-time buyers, and for subscribers who can't move with Whop's Stripe migration, a plan with a free trial that lines up their first Whop charge with their next SamCart renewal. Whop's API can't add members directly, so members claim access from the link you send.
Community
N/ASamCart doesn't have this, so there's nothing to move.
Paying subscribers
DependsWith your own Stripe connected, Whop's Stripe migration can move active card subscriptions. SamPay (SamCart's own processor) subscriptions can't be transferred, so those customers re-subscribe.
- Guided:
- you confirm or paste it in the wizard, and we create it on Whop.
- From your export:
- imported from the export file SamCart gives you.
Before you start
How to export your SamCart data
- 1Orders → Export → choose a time range → Email Report (CSV)
- 2Subscriptions → Export → recurring (CSV)
Optional: instead of the export, connect a read-only SamCart API key (beta). SamCart's API is available on Pro and Enterprise plans. The key is used once to read your products and courses, and we suggest revoking it after the move.

Why SamCart sellers are weighing a move in 2026
SamCart changed its pricing twice in about 15 months. In March 2025 it swapped its Launch, Grow and Scale tiers for a single plan priced by revenue. In June 2026 it replaced that with Core at $79 a month and Pro at $199 a month, and put 1-click upsells, order bumps, A/B testing, the Affiliate Center, API access and third-party processors on Pro only.
Existing customers stay on their legacy plans, but SamCart's help center says the change is one-way: cancel a legacy plan and you lose its pricing for good. Reactivated accounts land on Core (from Launch or Scaler) or Pro (from Grow or Scale).
SamCart takes no platform fee on SamPay, Stripe or PayPal. SamPay, its default processor, charges 2.9% + 30¢ on Core and Pro, and built-in tax calculation adds 0.5% on Core or 0.35% on Pro. Whop charges nothing monthly; each US card sale costs 2.7% + 30¢, and its billing fee adds 0.5% to subscription charges when enabled. This page covers what moves, what you rebuild and how to bill each subscriber only once.
What moves from SamCart to Whop
Your customer records move from SamCart's exports. Your checkout setup stays behind, and each subscriber's route depends on the processor that bills them. The support table on this page sums it up; the sections below explain each row for a SamCart account.
Customers, orders and subscriptions
SamCart has two exports that matter. The Orders export (Orders, then Export, then pick a time range and Email Report) sends a CSV with products purchased, coupon used, referring affiliate and more. SamCart's help center says the emailed file is only available for 15 minutes, so download it straight away or set up a scheduled export. The Subscriptions export works the same way and lets you choose recurring subscriptions, limited subscriptions (payment plans) or subscriptions set to cancel. Pull all three report types.
Drop the files into our member CSV converter, which builds a clean, Whop-ready list in your browser. If an export has no next rebill date, the converter estimates one from the last charge or start date plus the billing interval, and marks which dates are estimates.
Whop memberships can only be created through checkout, and its API has no way to enroll a customer for you. Instead, every customer gets a private link and claims their own access by signing in to Whop.
Products, prices and payment plans
Every SamCart product turns into a Whop product plus a plan priced the same way: one-time, or recurring on the same billing period. Whop plans support free trials and an initial fee on recurring plans, so SamCart products with a trial or a setup fee carry over too. Whop checkout also offers split pay (a fixed number of installments), which you can set for new buyers of a SamCart payment-plan product. The wizard prefills each product from your exports, you check the details, and we create the products and plans with Whop's official API.
Payment plans need a decision before you move. SamCart runs them itself, even when the card sits in your Stripe, and they stop the moment you close your SamCart account. Either keep SamCart open until the last installment clears, or end the plan and give those buyers free access on Whop with a claim link.
Courses
If you deliver a course through SamCart's Courses app, we found no course export in SamCart's help center. Paste your outline (modules, lessons, lesson text) into the wizard and we build it in Whop Courses, with YouTube or Loom embeds where you use them. Video files stay where they are, so upload your originals to Whop or host them unlisted and embed them.
SamCart's plans don't list a community feature, so there's nothing to carry over there. If you want one, Whop's Chat and Forums apps attach to the same product as your course.
Payments: which processor bills each subscriber
Your subscribers split into three groups, and each moves differently.
- Your own Stripe account. SamCart's recurring subscriptions here are managed by Stripe, so Whop Migrations can pick up every active or trialing card subscription of at least $1 with an email on file, renewal date included. Once they move, Whop schedules the old Stripe subscriptions to end when their paid period runs out. Anything paid by Stripe Link, ACH or SEPA is skipped.
- SamPay. SamPay creates a separate Stripe account with a "Managed by SamCart" banner, and SamCart says removing its access takes a support request. We treat SamPay subscribers as re-subscribers: they check out once on Whop, on a hidden plan whose free trial ends on their next SamCart rebill.
- PayPal, Braintree, Authorize.net or Easy Pay Direct. Whop Migrations only reads Stripe, so these subscribers re-subscribe the same way.
Our walkthrough of moving Stripe subscriptions to Whop shows each Migrations screen.
What Whop's checkout covers, and what you rebuild
Most SamCart settings stay behind, even where Whop has its own version. Plan each replacement before you announce the move.
Prices and features as of October 2026. Sources at the end of this page.
| In SamCart | What happens to it | Where it goes on Whop |
|---|---|---|
| Checkout pages | Designs and copy don't export | A checkout link per plan, your Whop store page, a free whop.site website built with Whop's AI or code (since Aug 2026; no drag-and-drop editor), or the Whop checkout placed inside your own pages. Whop's Website Migrations (Oct 2026) can rebuild a public sales page from its URL with Whop AI; that's untested on SamCart pages, so check the copy and connect it to your new plans |
| One-time, subscription and trial pricing | Rebuilt in the wizard from your exports | Whop plans, one-time or recurring, with free trials and setup fees, plus split pay (installments) for payment-plan products |
| Coupons | Orders show the code each buyer used, not its rules | Whop promo codes (percentage or flat, with limits and expiry dates) |
| Order bumps and 1-click upsells (Pro) | Settings stay in SamCart | Whop's 2025 locked-app upsells (before or after checkout) if they appear in your dashboard, since its current Help Center doesn't cover them, or a third-party App Store app; native one-click upsells and downsells aren't documented |
| Affiliate Center (Pro) | Affiliate accounts stay in SamCart | Whop's affiliate program, where you set the commission and send affiliates new links, plus Whop's 1.25% affiliate processing fee on referred sales; commissions pay out 30 days after purchase |
| Subscription Saver (Pro) | Stays in SamCart | Whop's 0.5% billing fee covers subscription management and payment retries |
| Tax calculation (0.5% Core, 0.35% Pro) | Settings stay in SamCart | Whop Tax Service at 2%, or handle tax yourself at no Whop fee |
| Klarna, Affirm and Afterpay (SamPay or Stripe) | Stays in SamCart | Whop financing after approval, at 15% per financed sale |
| Braintree, Authorize.net, Easy Pay Direct and payment routing (Pro) | Doesn't move | Every Whop sale runs through Whop Payments |
Two limits matter most for high-ticket sellers. New Whop accounts are capped at $2,500 per checkout link until Whop approves a higher limit, which its docs say takes up to 24 hours, or until you agree to hold part of your funds in reserve for 60 days. And Whop's financing requires $30,000 or more processed across at least 10 customers during the previous 90 days, with disputes below 2%; a new business can show 90 days of statements from its old processor. If you sell a $3,000 program on SamPay with Affirm today, apply for both before you switch your sales pages.
If you also ship physical products, Whop added ecommerce on October 1, 2026: a multi-item cart, variants, inventory, shipping-address collection, shipment tracking and itemized sales tax. Whop doesn't document shipping-rate rules, zones or label printing, so plan how you'll charge for shipping before you move those products.
How the switch works, step by step
Set up Whop first, move customers second and close SamCart last, so no buyer loses access and no subscriber is billed twice.
- Export from SamCart in one sitting: orders for your full history, plus the recurring, limited and set-to-cancel subscription reports. Save each file within 15 minutes of the email.
- Find out who bills whom. Open the Subscriptions page in your own Stripe Dashboard, then switch to your SamPay account from Stripe's account menu if you use one, and note which subscribers sit where.
- Clean the files with the member converter, then sign in to the free migration wizard through Whop's own login and upload them; we never need your SamCart password. On Pro, a read-only SamCart API key (beta) can replace the files.
- Confirm one Whop product per SamCart product, at the same prices and billing periods, then recreate your promo codes and affiliate settings, plus any upsells your Whop dashboard or an App Store app supports.
- Rebuild any course from your outline, and upload or embed the videos lesson by lesson.
- Run Whop Migrations for subscribers in your own Stripe. Send re-subscribe links to SamPay and PayPal subscribers and claim links to one-time buyers.
- Swap every SamCart checkout link and embedded checkout on your sales pages, emails, ads and affiliate links for its Whop version.
- Cancel the remaining SamCart subscriptions at the end of each billing period as members land on Whop, settle your payment plans, then close SamCart.
How to keep subscribers and avoid double billing
Match every re-subscribe trial to the date SamCart would next bill that person, and stop the SamCart subscription so its last paid period runs out naturally. A single SamPay customer shows how the dates fit together.
Take a customer billed $97 through SamPay on the 22nd of every month. On the 9th you email them a private Whop link, and the hidden plan behind it carries a free trial through the 22nd. They add a card the same day. In SamCart, open the subscription's Quick Actions menu and cancel it. SamCart's help center describes timing options for ending at the close of the billing period or on a custom date, and a Silent Cancel switch that stops billing without revoking product access or firing your cancellation integrations. On the 22nd Whop takes the $97, and SamCart has nothing left to charge.
SamCart sends the customer an automatic email when a cancellation happens, so warn people about it in your announcement. Set the switch deadline three or four days ahead of each person's rebill date, and send reminders seven days before and again the evening before. More versions are in our migration announcement templates. Here is a short one for SamCart customers:
Subject: [Product name] has a new home on Whop from [date]
Hi [first name], from [date] you'll get [product name] through Whop instead of our old checkout. Your access moves with you: use this link and sign in to Whop with the same email you bought with: [link].
If you pay monthly, nothing changes on your bill: $[price], charged on [next rebill date]. Save your card on Whop now and it won't be charged until then. SamCart will send you an automatic cancellation notice when we turn off the old billing, which is how we make sure you only pay once. If you bought it outright, your access stays free.
If something looks off, just reply and we'll sort it out.
Subscribers moved by Whop Migrations skip the card step and keep their billing date, but Stripe emails each of them a cancellation notice for the old subscription, so mention that in your announcement too. For a side-by-side look at both routes, read our walkthrough of migrating paid subscriptions to Whop.
SamCart vs Whop fees at your revenue
Whop comes out cheaper at the $1,000 and $10,000 levels, and SamCart Core at $50,000. Our example uses a $49 monthly membership paid with US cards, SamCart on monthly billing through SamPay, and leaves out tax tools, other add-ons, payouts and currency conversion.
Prices as of October 2026. Sources at the end of this page.
| Revenue a month ($49 members) | Whop fees | SamCart Core, plan plus fees | SamCart Pro, plan plus fees |
|---|---|---|---|
| $1,000 (about 20 charges) | $38 ($40 with Radar) | $114 | $234 |
| $10,000 (about 204 charges) | $381 ($396 with Radar) | $430 | $550 |
| $50,000 (about 1,020 charges) | $1,906 ($1,978 with Radar) | $1,835 | $1,955 |
We priced Whop at revenue × 3.2% plus $0.30 per charge (2.7% card processing and 0.5% billing on each renewal), and SamCart at its plan price plus revenue × 2.9% plus $0.30 per charge. Whop's fee page also lists its Radar fraud check at $0.07 a transaction, which our calculator treats as an opt-in, so the figures in parentheses add it to every charge. Over a year without Radar, Whop saves $912 against Core at $1,000 and $588 at $10,000, and costs $852 more at $50,000; against Pro it saves $2,352, $2,028 and $588. With Radar, the Core savings shrink to $895 and $417, and at $50,000 Pro comes out about $269 a year cheaper than Whop. The crossover sits near $26,000 a month for Core and $66,000 for Pro without Radar, or about $18,000 and $45,000 with it. Billing SamCart yearly ($59 or $149 a month) cuts $240 or $600 off its side.
One-time products change the picture. On a one-time sale, Whop's 2.7% + 30¢ is lower than SamPay's 2.9% + 30¢, so with no plan fee Whop costs less than both SamCart plans at all three levels, with or without Radar on a $49 sale. If you gate a Discord server or Telegram group, Whop's fee page lists no extra fee, but its Discord and Telegram app listings say the app adds 3% to that product's payments. If that applies, $10,000 a month in $49 subscriptions costs about $681 on Whop against $430 on Core, and Whop costs more than Core above about $2,400 a month, so budget for it until Whop settles the conflict. Run your own price, volume and mix of one-time and recurring sales through the SamCart vs Whop fee calculator, or check Whop's full fee schedule.
Should you switch from SamCart to Whop?
Switch if most of what you pay SamCart for is checkout and delivery and your subscribers can move without friction. Stay if your revenue depends on payment options or volumes where SamCart is cheaper or more flexible.
Switching makes sense when:
- you sell courses, memberships or downloads, and want checkout, course hosting and a community or Discord access in one place;
- most of your subscribers are in your own Stripe, so Whop Migrations moves them without anyone re-entering a card;
- your revenue is mostly one-time sales, or under about $18,000 a month in subscriptions counting Whop's $0.07 Radar fee ($26,000 without it), where Whop's fees come out lower. If you gate Discord or Telegram, Whop's app listings say 3% more applies (its fee page lists none); with it, Whop costs more than SamCart Core above about $2,400 a month.
Stay on SamCart when:
- most subscribers pay through SamPay or PayPal, and asking them to check out again would lose more members than the fee savings are worth;
- you can't wait for Whop to approve checkout links above $2,500 (a cap on new accounts), or you lean on Klarna, Affirm or Afterpay, which SamCart offers at about 6% + 30¢ per order against Whop's 15% fee and its financing bar of $30,000 from 10+ customers in 90 days;
- you route payments across Stripe, Braintree, Authorize.net or Easy Pay Direct on Pro, or want card data held by a processor you choose;
- your subscription revenue sits above about $18,000 a month on Core or $45,000 on Pro (counting Whop's Radar fee; $26,000 and $66,000 without it), where SamPay's 2.9% beats Whop's 3.2%;
- you ship physical products and need shipping-rate rules or label printing, which Whop doesn't document;
- your funnels lean on 1-click upsells, downsells or A/B-tested checkouts, which Whop doesn't document as built-in features;
- you're on a legacy plan whose price you'd lose permanently by cancelling.
If you're still comparing destinations, see our SamCart alternatives ranked by cost or the Whop vs Stripe comparison if you'd rather run checkout on your own Stripe. If you run SamCart alongside a funnel or marketing suite, the ClickFunnels to Whop and Kartra to Whop plans cover those exports.
After the move: launch checklist
Run every buyer path yourself before the announcement goes out, and finish the list before SamCart is closed.
- Pay for one of your products on Whop with a live card, then refund yourself.
- If you rebuilt an upsell, through Whop or an App Store app, run the full flow from checkout to the offer and check what the buyer is charged.
- Use a claim link from a second account and confirm the course and apps it opens.
- Pick three re-subscribers and confirm each trial ends on their SamCart rebill date.
- Finish Whop's payout setup and identity check, and request higher checkout limits for any offer above $2,500.
- Budget for a reserve on a young Whop account, since Whop can hold back part of each sale for a period.
- Replace SamCart links and embedded checkouts in your bio, email footers, video descriptions, ads and affiliate materials.
- Before you close SamCart, confirm in Stripe that no subscription you meant to move is still set to renew.
Frequently asked questions
Can I rebuild SamCart's order bumps and upsells on Whop?
Partly, and by hand. SamCart's bump and upsell settings don't export. Whop's 2025 blog describes upsells that sell a locked app at a one-time price before checkout, after checkout or inside your whop, but its current Help Center doesn't document them, so check your dashboard first. Otherwise use a third-party App Store app. Whop doesn't document native one-click upsells or downsells. Test-buy every offer before you switch traffic.
Do I need SamCart Pro to use the migration tool?
No. The wizard works from SamCart's Orders and Subscriptions CSV exports, and SamCart's help center doesn't tie those to a plan. On Pro ($199 a month) or Enterprise you can connect a read-only API key instead, which is in beta. SamCart's help center says revoking a key takes effect immediately, so revoke it as soon as your migration is done.
Will my SamPay subscribers have to re-enter their card?
Yes. SamPay runs on a Stripe account that SamCart creates and manages for you, separate from any Stripe account you own, and we haven't found a documented way to move its subscriptions to Whop. Those customers check out once on Whop. Their trial on Whop runs until their SamCart rebill date, so the first Whop charge replaces that payment rather than adding to it.
What happens to my Stripe subscriptions when I close SamCart?
They keep billing. SamCart's help center says recurring subscriptions on Stripe continue after the SamCart account closes, with Stripe managing them, while payment plans stop at once. PayPal and other processors stop everything immediately. Run Whop Migrations first, since it schedules every Stripe subscription it moves to stop renewing after the current period, then close SamCart.
Is Whop cheaper than SamCart?
For one-time sales, yes at all three revenue levels we modeled: Whop's 2.7% + 30¢ undercuts SamPay's 2.9% + 30¢, with no plan fee. On $49 subscriptions (3.2% + 30¢), Whop beats Core below about $26,000 a month and Pro below $66,000, or $18,000 and $45,000 counting its $0.07 Radar fee. Gating Discord or Telegram? Whop's app listings say 3% more applies, though its fee page lists none; with it, Whop costs more than Core above about $2,400 a month.
Does Whop handle sales tax the way SamCart does?
Differently. SamCart calculates tax for 0.5% on Core or 0.35% on Pro, and you still register, file and remit. Whop Tax Service costs 2% on sales where it collects tax and comes in two versions: Whop collects and you file, or Whop collects and also files for US, EU and UK sales. You can also leave it off and handle tax yourself at no Whop fee.
